MY JOURNEY

  • I am a New York–based Licensing & Marketing professional with over 10 years of experience across brand/IP licensing, creative fashion marketing, and the media industry. My career has been shaped by a passion for bringing brands to life through product, storytelling, and strategic partnerships.

    Currently, I serve as a Licensing Manager at Children’s Apparel Network, where I lead the end-to-end execution of licensed apparel programs across major global brands including Disney, Marvel, Warner Bros., Paramount, and Sanrio. I partner closely with cross-functional teams across Design, Merchandising, Sales, and Product Development to bring products from concept through final production, ensuring alignment with brand standards, timelines, and commercial objectives.

    In this role, I manage key aspects of the licensed business including product approvals, forecasting, royalty reporting, and retail placement across major accounts. I also act as a primary liaison with licensors, driving communication, resolving challenges, and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships to support business growth.

    Beyond day-to-day execution, I have contributed to improving internal processes and workflows—enhancing efficiency in product submissions, increasing visibility across tracking systems, and helping the team operate more effectively in a fast-paced environment. I take pride in being a reliable partner and problem solver, known for my ability to balance creative vision with operational excellence.

    Prior to my current role, I built a strong foundation in licensing and brand management through experiences across both the licensor and licensee sides of the business. At Moonbug Entertainment, I gained exposure to the media and content side of brand development, while my time at Bentex strengthened my experience in licensed apparel execution and retail-driven product strategy. These experiences have given me a well-rounded perspective on the industry and continue to inform my approach to driving successful licensing partnerships today.

  • Before venturing into licensing, I held the distinguished role of Managing Director & Editor in Chief at Wenjin Culture Media CO. LTD in Beijing. In this capacity, I was responsible for leading Ad sales and brand partnership initiatives for the online magazine Our Street Style. Throughout my tenure, I successfully expanded the brand's online presence, witnessing a remarkable growth in our social media followers from 50k to over 1 million by 2016. This achievement stemmed from a strong focus on content excellence and strategic utilization of celebrity and influencer collaborations. Moreover, I forged prosperous partnerships with esteemed luxury fashion brands such as Burberry, Cartier, Chanel, Givenchy, Gucci, among others.

  • With a degree in Journalism and a specialized focus on Broadcasting and Anchoring, my initial foray into the professional world commenced as an on-air TV host for 'Happiness Home,' a popular home makeover program broadcasted on Chinese national television. In this role, I assumed the responsibility of hosting numerous segments and promotional events. This encompassed both spontaneous and prearranged interviews with families and sponsors, showcasing my versatility in navigating diverse scenarios.

    Building on this foundation, my journey with Our Street Style ushered in a pivotal phase. I was entrusted as an interviewer for the acclaimed 'Star Is Here' program, which enjoyed a successful two-season run on Sohu.com.

    My commitment to creating positive change extends beyond my professional journey. I've dedicated time to teach English and science to underprivileged elementary school students at Nairobi's Upendo Resque School. This experience affirmed my belief in the transformative power of education.

    SS14 Milan Fashion week, this marked the beginning of my journey as a reporter and producer covering fashion events, a path I would continue for the subsequent five years. Regularly attending fashion weeks in Milan, Paris, London, and New York, I was able to expand my horizons and experience a much wider world within the realm of fashion.

    “I never knew of a morning in Africa, when I woke up and was not happy”. Beyond my professional pursuits, my deepest passion lies in traveling and exploring the world around me. A commitment that took root within me during my early twenties—an oath to ensure that the count of countries I visit always surpasses my age. Thus far, my journeys have led me to 33 captivating countries, and with more horizons to uncover, this adventure is bound to continue.

  • Long Time No See

    2 years after I left the television industry, I was honored to take on the role of interviewer for the renowned 'Star Is Here' program—an engaging short-form talk show centered around celebrity fashion insights. This captivating show found its home on Sohu.com in China, where it achieved substantial success with a two-season run.

  • Oops, I did it AGAIN!

    After dedicating myself to seven years in the workforce, I decided to take a hiatus and return to academia. In 2019, I achieved a significant milestone by obtaining my master's degree in Fashion Marketing from LIM College, situated in the heart of Midtown Manhattan.

  • Let's Talk, Superstar!

    I had the privilege of engaging in a meaningful conversation with the renowned Chinese Pop Star and Style Icon, Chris Lee (Li Yuchun), following the Givenchy SS2016 Fashion show in New York. This particular experience marked a pivotal moment as it deepened my affection for the city. It was during this trip that the seeds of my eventual relocation to New York were sown.
